In life, we use assessments for many aspects of our life to determine health – finances, work performance, relationships, and even our physical well-being. Have you ever thought about the health of your home?

Why Perform an Energy Assessment?

Consider the following:

  • Are there significant temperature differences between rooms?
  • Do you feel drafts near your window or doors?
  • Is your attic properly insulated?
  • Are your energy bills increasing for no reason?

Evaluating the health of your home is possible through an Energy Assessment performed by BPI-Certified professionals. The best part is that the major Pennsylvania utilities will pay for most or all of this service. The only thing you have to lose is high energy bills so why not?

What is an Energy Assessment?

A home energy assessment is similar to when a doctor performs a physical exam when you are sick. He completes a series of tests to gather information and evaluates it to determine a diagnosis. His recommendations are a plan to help you feel better.

An energy assessment takes a whole-house approach to evaluate your home’s energy efficiency (home health) with the goal of increasing overall comfort and saving you money on energy bills. Our Building Performance Institute (BPI) Certified experts gather data through a Home Performance Energy Assessment, which is available through all the major Pennsylvania Utilities.

How does it work?

An energy assessor arrives at your home and uses state-of-the-art testing, including thermal imaging and a blower door test to evaluate the air leakage of your home. They examine your basement, attic, crawlspaces, heating and air conditioning systems, and so much more. The process takes approximately 90 minutes.

The final report shows your home’s energy usage across its heating, cooling, electrical, and hot water systems, and how much of this consumption is wasted. Our energy expert reviews the findings along with any recommendations to increase your home’s energy usage through insulation, air sealing, HVAC upgrades, and other energy-saving methods.

Benefits of an Energy Assessment

  • Lower energy bills
  • Increased comfort levels
  • Improved energy efficiency
  • Better indoor air quality
